Introducing our user: God-Emperor’s Wraith Form

Pint Please is not just an app. It’s a worldwide community. Over which you can find information and recommendations for good beers but also like-minded beer lovers. Some of them you can find in your phone’s contacts in the future perhaps. Heck, someone has even got a job because he has downloaded Pint Please from Play Store and started typing reviews. Possibilities by belonging to a community are enormous!

In the name of the community, we thought about starting to introduce our users. From who would you like to know more about? Tells us 🙂

Here’s the interview of God-Emperor’s Wraith Form:

What is your real name? (optional)

How old are you?

What got you interested in beer?

I’m God-Emperor’s Wraith Form and I live in Oulu, Finland. My real name is Joona and I am turning 24 years old later this year. I think I got interested in beer when I was 19. At first, I didn’t drink much of it since I didn’t like the idea of having many of the same bulk lager, but when I found about beers like Stallhagen’s honey lager, I started to buy more and more of different flavours. My first craft beer ever was actually Founders’ Imperial Stout which I thought tasted like a liquid dark bread!

God-Emperor’s Wraith Form is currently on the 101 level with more than 1600 beers rated in Pint please

What is your favorite beer style? (you can name more than one)

Name your favorite beer

What is “the Must have”beer you want to taste atleast once in your life?

My favourite style has been Imperial stout for couple of years. I enjoy them the most with sweeter taste and very thick mouthfeel. My all-time favourite would be Noa (or Aon) Pecan Mud cake due to its rather easy availability (in Systembolaget), sweet and thick flavour. Now, I know they use additional sweeteners or something on it but I don’t care! Most recent addition to my favourites was a Jopenbier I tasted in Gliwice, Poland by Dobry Zbeer. It was so neatly thick and strong beer. If I were to think of a must have beer I’d want to try in future, I’d say it’d be Samuel Adams Utopias by Boston Beer Company. Super strong with 27% abv and super expensive, too. Check it out, beer lovers. It’s more hyper than Westie 12.

Why do you prefer using Pint Please?

Anything else you would like to tell us? Other beer related thing, homepage of yours, etc.?

I’ve been using Pint Please since October 2016. I started using it since creating Untappd profile was too difficult when a bit tipsy. It was also an app made by locals and I had seen ads of it on my university notification boards. Back then, I was doing my exchange studies in Scotland, and had discovered the joyful beer selection of local Morrisons’. Having drank so many beers already (around 50), I needed to log them somewhere so I wouldn’t forget about them. Just recently I reached level 101 in Pint Please so I’ve really come a long way.

I like using Pint Please, since it has an amazing community. People like your posts, actually even comment on them. I’ve made several beer friends (and who knows, maybe even real friends) by using the app. I’ve also attained a bit worrying relationship with alcoholic drinks but that’s another story. App itself is fluid and fun to use and offers good rewards for tasting new beers, like stickers and likes from other users. I’ve noticed that the better and rarer the beer, the more of reaction it gets from other users. Having good picture setups helps as well. In addition, making long reviews has always been part of the experience for me, trying to squeeze out every detail of the beer I’m trying. Doesn’t always work but I’m getting better at it by every sip I take.

Personally, I’d like to explore different levels of beer hipsterism in the future. Recently I picked up a job of bartending in a local pub and I’m going to help a brewery at local beer festival this week. I’m also part of local beer society and like to practice beer tourism in other countries. I’m thinking of starting to do beer exchanges as well so if you have any experience on that, I’d like some tips. Also don’t forget to follow me on Pint Please! I have a rather unique name and it’s God-Emperor’s Wraith Form. Cheers to you, beer lovers!
