Introducing our users: GREY

1. Where are you from and where do you live now?

I was born in Helsinki, Finland where I also live.

2. What is your Pint Please user name?

Grey. A pseudonym. One of the features that I like in Pint Please is that it’s totally ok to use almost any alias that comes in mind. You don’t have to use your real name if you don’t want for whatever reason.

But yeah. Grey is simple and easy to remember. It’s also a bit of mix of the facts that I really love the wilderness and respect the ones that really, truly are masters of those skills needed to succeed in the wild.

3. What is your real name? (optional)

4. How old are you?

37 or 38. I haven’t really remembered well after I turned 30-ish or something around that time.

5. What got you interested in beer?

Definitely the flavors. Flavors meaning the taste, scent, body and look of the beer as well as the other aspects that might be essential to the beer in hand (usage of barrels f.e.).

That is still the main thing to keep me interested in beers. Besides flavors, also label arts, bottle/can shapes and sizes fascinates me big time.

The more I taste and learn about different beers, the more I become aware of the overall craftmanship and pure talent required to be a great and exceptional brewer. It’s a true form of art.

6. What is your favorite beer style? (you can name more than one)

There’s no favourite style of beer to me. I enjoy beer best when it’s clearly high-class, has a point and maybe even a clear purpose or direction.

But if I should choose one style, it might be barley wines at the moment. They usually are more complex and overall more interesting than imperial stouts. Strong, clear and clean flavors used in top precision always catches my attention. And the best ones are pure divine enjoyment.

7. Name your favorite beer

To pick one. Ehm. Tough one.

It might be Xyauyù Kentucky (2015 edt.), barley wine, from Italian Birra Baladin or maybe triple IPA Chubbles, from the Cloudwater and The Veil collaboration. Or pretty much any of the Trillium beers or, well yeah, you get the point.

There are delightfully many great ones I’ve got the opportunity to taste. So, to name only one to be the favourite wouldn’t do justice to the others.

I feel lucky that I’ve had the opportunity to taste so many masterfully crafted beers, even some of the rare ones.

8. What is “the Must have”beer you want to taste at least once in your life?

I’m currently on my expedition with beers from Trillium, Tree House and a bit of Monkish. They are all US-based breweries and rather liked.

Time will tell what will grasp my attention next. We’ll see.

9. Why do you prefer using Pint Please?

It’s a lovely app! Easy to use and even versatile if you know how to ”use” it. There’s room for my own imagination on how to present the ratings/reviews.

But what keeps me using only Pint Please? I think it’s the people there. Getting positive tips and interesting views on my and others ratings, photo’s of the beers, achieved accomplishments are all awesome! There’s even a sense of fellowship besides anyone who enjoys talking about beer and crap 🤠

10. Anything else you would like to tell us? Other beer-related things, the homepage of yours, etc.?

Well, I enjoy reading reviews when they are thoughtful in any-decent-way. Also, a solid photo always gets me excited. They can be. So. Damn. Nice!

I’ve got this instragaram (yeap, wrote it right) *goofy wink here* account, but ehm, well yeah, check that out if you wish.
