First brewed by Guinness in 1801, FES was designed for export, and is more heavily hopped than Guinness Draught and Extra Stout, and typically has a higher alcohol content, which gives it a more bitter taste.The extra hops were intended as a natural preservative for the long journeys the beer would take by ship.

👀: Pechschwarz mit einer ĂŒppigen feinporigen Schaumkrone 👃: Röstmalz, Kaffee, etwas Karamell 😋: Röstmalz und Kaffee dominieren, die leichte SĂ€ure setzt frĂŒh ein, Richtung Mittelteil kommt etwas Karamell durch; cremig und dezent ölig Nicht verkehrt, obwohl ich nicht der grĂ¶ĂŸte Stout-Fan bin😁

Caramel aromas, clover, coffee. Deep and dark, nice especially with food but fits even unaccompanied.
