80 Shilling is Belhaven’s classic, just like beer great great great grandpa would have had. It has a classic red appearance in the glass, rich and smooth. An Austrian Emperor once described 80/- as ’the burgundy of Scotland’. Not sure how many he’d had, but the man clearly had taste.

Nice ale, lovely deep colour with subtle hints of toffee. I would say though 3.9 percent is rather low for an 80 shilling. Nonetheless could have a few of these back to back with rather ease.

After a hard day's work this was glaring at me from within the fridge. It put even more hairs on my chest and I may have said a few anti-feminist statements during dinner, but it wasn't half bad.

A nice ale, quite hoppy/bitter maybe can only have a couple in a row, but quite enjoyable.
