Brewed as a model of what good beer should be, this rich, full-flavored Pilsner-style Lager delivers a crisp, refreshing taste.
Well-balanced taste and light hop character with a crisp, clean finish. Modelo Especial is characterized by an orange blossom honey aroma with a hint of herb. Modelo Especial contains Water, Barley Malt, Non-malted Cereals and Hops.

I had never seen this beer before and since first seeing it, I now see it everywhere. Maybe it's part of some new Mexico - Europe trade deal.
Pour from the bottle was peculiar, it had lots of vibrant life, carbonation bubbling up the glass but the head was entirely without foam, and seemed only to be made up fizzy bubbles. Not unlike what you'd see from a sugary soft drink.
Colour is golden yellow leaning more into dark amber than light straw, would indicate a more malted style, as per the advertised pilsner.
Scent is very grainy, lots of barley and some corn with an ultra faint sour mash smelling undercurrant.
Mouthfeel is quite muted. Only the tiniest of a bite, it's crisp but just barely. Mild carbonation resonates in the mouth and a little slick feeling foaminess remains afterwards.
Taste is malty, and sweet. There is some indistinguishable cereals with the sweetness of the corn rising to the top. The sweetness peaks then if all settles down to sort of damp barely aftertaste.
Not a terribly complex beer but a perfectly acceptable pairing with your Mexican food.
