This Doppelbock was brewed as a traditional, German-style, strong, dark Lager with notes of bread crust, molasses and herbal hops. We then aged it in Bourbon barrels that had held our 2017 Barley Wine and let the oak lend the beer it's smooth, toasty, woody character. The result is a hybrid of brewing traditions, and a beer that pairs very well with herb roasted root vegetables and Baroque music (played on bluegrass instruments).
