Expedition Stout offers immensely complex flavors crafted specifically with vintage aging in mind, as its profile will continue to mature and develop over the years. A huge malt body is matched to a heady blend of chocolate, dark fruits, and other aromas. Intensely bitter in its early months, the flavors will slowly meld and grow in depth as the beer ages.

At my daughter and son-in-law's house in Texas trying another very strong Russian imperial stout.
Dark brown, totally opaque brown in color. Light dark fruit aroma. Light in carburation. Heavy texture, strong roasted coffee, semisweet. Coffee type bitterness that continues throughout the finish. Very good beer.

I sent that in Houston watching the Astros try to close out a ticket to the World series. Trying a bells expedition stout I'm only had once before. It was in a very small sampling at that time.

Having at Hops N Guac with a pour by the ounce cup. What a great way to try different beers.
Has a modest amount of dark brown foamy head. Creamy and lasting. Color is dark opaque brown. As a strong malty and chocolate aroma. Flavor is, wow! Definitely a Russian Imperial stout. Strong malt, strong chocolate, strong alcohol. Texture is heavy and thick. Has a burnt bitterness and alcohol in the finish. Bells has come through again.

Side by side review with 2020 Expedition Stout and 2020 35th Anniversary Expedition Stout Reserve.
Expo: Taste has roasted malts, dark fruits, some hoppy bitterness and notes of chocolate. Medium-full body with a medium-low amount of carbonation.
Expo Reserve: Taste has chocolate, toffee, roasted malts, dark fruits and coffee notes. Definitely less harsh in terms of bitterness than the regular version. Medium-full body with an appropriately lower amount of carbonation.
Regular Expo is great as always, but they definitely took it to the next level with the reserve. I think I should do the same side by side, but add the bourbon barrel aged version of Expo.
Regular Expo 4.5/5

Mukavan makea, suklainen ja kahvinen. Itseasiassa todella maukas ja tasapainoinen. Ihan lievä kitkeryys jälkimaussa mutta oikeastaan sopii kokonaisuuteen.
Voi ostaa toistekkin.
