Péché Mortel (French for "Mortal Sin") is an intensely black and dense beer with very pronounced roasted flavours. Fair trade coffee is infused during the brewing process, intensifying the bitterness of the beer and giving it a powerful coffee taste. Péché mortel is brewed to be savored; we invite you to drink it in moderation.

This is a revisit. I remember loving this beer in my earlier craft beer days, but I've never had a fresh bottle. I had this recently on tap and wasn't wowed by it, but I couldn't pass on picking up a few bottles when they showed up. This is about 1.5 years old (bottled 4-15-2022), so I suppose it's not fresh, but I believe it's the freshest bottle I've had.
Rich Imperial stout aroma along with coffee. Good start. Taste has a ton of coffee with a rich stout base to hold it together. There is a solid bitterness in the finish, but it starts to fade pretty quickly. I'll have to look at older reviews to see how it compares to my first impression.
The body is just about medium-full with a low amount of carbonation.
I definitely am enjoying this more than the last time I had it recently, and I think I'll hit my local beer store and buy the remaining 5-10 bottles. Very enjoyable. Solid 4.25/5
Update: Upon looking back at older reviews, it's very similar to what I remember. Not really getting much of the chocolate notes I initially got, but everything else is pretty much the same.
