1906 Galician Irish Red Ale / La Pelirroja
5.0% Irish Ale
An Irish-inspired fusion beer, a blend of four malts and four hops that gives rise to a Galician Red Ale with Celtic soul.
A copper-coloured beer with hints of ruby and beige head. A clean malty aroma, recalling hazelnuts and toffee. A moderately toasted taste, recalling biscuits, nuts (malt) and slightly floral (hops). A bitter afterstaste and easy to drink.

I love the 1906 branding, it's very eye catching and shaking up the colour is great for presenting familiarity with a variation.
Poured easy from the bottle gives a body of deep amber with a satisfying red hue around the trim. There was some caramel coloured foam, about half a finger, but it dissipated quickly and left no trace.
Aromas of dried fruits, raisins, dates and cranberries, with a hint of candied orange peel. Lots of sweet caramel and biscuit malt in the follow up with a faint floral hop profile at the end.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied, foamy at first and a little oily. The foam subsides and the body is exposed as being a little lighter than previously thought.
Leaves a little slick coating in the mouth afterwards.
Taste is biscuit and barley upfront, faint oat profile I think before the caramel surfaces and dominates. The dried fruits pop up, blending nicely with the floral hops to give a slight pou pouri profile, but not in a suffocating way. The caramel malts linger and a slightly earthy, nutty tone emerges which carries well with the sweet biscuit and caramel. This makes up the aftertaste which matures a little as it passes.
A great red ale in my opinion.
