Clear, mahogany beer with pathetic carbonation just manages to create a beige, almost grayish lacing on the surface. No real head actually. The cover decoration pixels gradually to zero. Nevertheless, a restrained bubble ring kisses gently the rim a bit longer. The fragrance emits — interestingly! — blackcurrant leaf, maybe also twig, black tea, bitter caramel and something odd. I'm doing repeated inhales trying to analyze it in more detail, and eventually I get it: Marmite! That English toast spread made of yeast. This is something! The taste is mild as the style suggest. In effect, it's considerably mild. The components include bitter caramel, a touch of rye flour, dark plum skin, blackcurrant twig, bitter black tea and — yes! — Marmite. The body is thin. The beer ends rushedly with Marmite, bitter caramel and grapefruit peel. The mouthfeel is thin, slightly tangy, even strange, but still tries to be also smooth. These Mild Ales are interesting. Great pub food here! 😋 I 💚 especially the samphire. This must be my first time ever to taste it. Really good!
