Black Forest
4.9% Porter
The Black Forest is the setting for many fairy tales so if you go down to the woods today be sure to take a bottle of this dark Porter with you. Enjoy the slow pace of this full-flavoured taste exploration; this is no unadventurous walk through Blandsville. Instead you are in for a big surprise, as along the way, you sample rich roasted flavours of coffee and chocolate and at the end of the taste trail is a satisfying balanced bitterness.

The aroma of this Porter is intense; fruity, coffee and chocolatey 😛. Mouth feel is surprisingly less than you would expect, medium to thin - the beer is dry and finishes slightly acidic. It sips like an imperial, however at 4.9% it’s a ways off. I can’t decipher the hops but I would suspect British hedgerow. My can was overly carbonated and took a while to pour - not my first time drinking this beer and I actually have it as a recipe to make myself. I think on cask this will be a stonking good ale.

Was expecting something a little bit better than this offering. Hints of coffee in the aroma with hints of chocolate in the flavour.

OK I guess. Better than Guinness due to having more flavour. Little flat though
