A Fire By The Bines
8.0% New England DIPA / Hazy Imperial IPA
Southern Cross and New Zealand Cascade Double India Pale Ale. "The first release from our 'Hand Selected In New Zealand' series launches today at @cloudwaterunit9 - and we just had to start with a DIPA. đđ„ A Fire By The Bines features Southern Cross and NZ Cascade from @freestylehops, hand selected by us at hop selection earlier this year. It's one of the softest, silkiest DIPAs we've released in recent months, and combines punchy floral notes and pine with a smooth underbelly of creamy papaya and honeydew melon." Vegan friendly. Brewed by Cloudwater Brew Co.

Beautiful orange juice completion with no head retention and no visible carbonation due to the complete opacity of this brew.
Such a rich aroma on the nose, bright citrus and lush stone fruit and the familiar whiff of DIPA depth.
Very soft and smooth with a full body and a tangy long finish. Clocking in at 8% ABV I'm not sure if this brew hides it completely or if the citrus and pine is deceiving me, it's probably the latter. Yes, it's a deep luscious juice fest with a long Citra pine finish, alcohol covered completely. Cascade and Citra, it's quite classic, no Strata or Mosaic or anything newer and currently popular, just a proper DIPA and I understand Cloudwater have been producing it for at least three years.
For those who like juice and pine.. you'll like this, for me I prefer less pine and more juice. That said it has complexity from a simple brew and it works well for this winter season, like drinking a Christingle in a forest! Beers like this affirm my position/opinion/assertion that DIPAs are the best (although I've rated more sours higher)!

Lovely smooth mouthfeel and great foamy head. Rounded fruity flavour with a reasonable pine finish. Just needs a bit more punch for me.
