DDH IPA showcasing a blend of our dankest modern hops.
The trees may be blushing at our inaction over the climate emergency, but we’d rather fancy they are showing off once more before their winter’s rest, after a challenging and trying year.
Take all of the richness of Autumn in, it’s colourful sights, wind-driven sounds, and rich smells.

This beer has been renamed to Double Dank.
Deep and dark opaque straw coloured with fast dispersing head and visible carbonation.
Fresh hoppy on the nose with tropical fruit aroma, namely pineapple, mango, passionfruit and grapefruit. Give it a swirl in the glass and you can smell alcohol coming through and some apricot.
The can doesn't state the ingredients only saying 'a blend of our dankest modern hops' along with a piece on autumn colours and trees blushing at our inaction on climate change. I hope this isn't a autumn beer that has been sat in the can since last year! Haha.
It's very soft and smooth in the mouth, like cream. So soft that it makes you think the body is lighter than it is. It's hefty and serious brew. Deep, rich flavours dished up to you in a velvet manner. I can't emphasize the smoothness and softness enough.
The blend of hops is excellent. There's a lack of citrus in favour of dank tropics. My only initial criticism is the lack of resinous hops in the finish, my tongue isn't coated and tingling.
You could argue the lack of constant attack on the tongue after swallowing is a good thing in this case. Although resinous hoppiness is good, it would detract from the extreme balance and poise of this beer.
6% alcohol is covered nicely by the flavours of apricot, peach, pineapple, mango and lychee even though they are relatively subdued. I believe there is a DIPA version of this brew and I'm very interested to try that to see if Cloudwater crank up the flavour insensitivity along with the high abv and retain this brews qualities.
Speaking of quality, this is very high quality beer and reflects well on their reputation.
Cloudwater were one of the first serious craft brewers I tried up in Bermondsey and drinking this takes me back there.
It's a million miles away from the collaborative brews that they give Tescos.
Double dry hop indulgence, beautiful tropical juice and hoppy flavour..
I'd say this is one of the best beers I've tried this year and stands up tall versus US craft as an equal...or close contender at least!
