BEER: ISO: Tacos BREWERY: American Solera BEER STYLE: Imperial Stout (Laird’s Apple Brandy BA) COUNTRY: USA ABV.: 13.0% COLOUR (EBC): Jet Black (100.0) BITTERS (EBU/IBU): - AROMA: Woody, molassy, sugary. Tight. HEAD: Dark Brown Red. Intensive and tight. GREY’S VIEW 15 months in Laird’s Apple Brandy Barrel Aged Imperial Stout. Member Exclusive Release. Ok. First sip down and it seems intresting. I get strong basebeer with somewhat agile and clear/clean maltbase, hints of rosewater some minerals and milk chocolate. The Laird’s Apple Brandy has soaked into this quite well. Seems like it gives strong brandy feel; warmth, some Pinot Noir sort of stylish vibes with drying, well aged (slightly charred) oak. It’s definitely a interesting and stylish piece. Mouthfeel is somewhat easy and full-ish, or for what it can be with these stats. Carbonation is small and lively and everything is clear and clean. Aftertaste offers more of mouth drying oak with light chocolate ganaché, oysters and minerals in the end. OTHER NOTES: Strong recommendation to both; American Soleras’ Member BA Stouts and most and forthmost to Apple Brandy Barrel Aged Imperial Stouts. It’s like a fresh breathe from the ocean to enjoy this one. BOTTLED 5/2020 TASTED 7/2021
