Day #10 of Advent Calendar (yesterday). No chance to taste this yesterday, gotta catch up today. 😅 The beer pours turbid, cola black. Fizzy carbonation is really short-lived and produces almost no head at all, just a mediocre tawny lace ring. However, the hair-thin ring retains on top for relatively long. Churro is the first delicacy that pops in my mind when sniffing the beer: loads of cinnamon, brown sugar and lactose find their way to my nose. Cacao nibs, coconut flakes and vanilla should also be accommodated in the olfactory space. Vanilla is actually quite powerful, must be from tonka. Pastry-like to level 5/5. đŸ€ŽđŸ–€đŸ€Ž The taste changes the route: I don't associate the experience with churro anymore. Now hefty dark chocolate and bags of cacao nibs seek a smaller amount of cinnamon, lactose and less vanilla than in the fragrance to create a new mouthwatering potpourri. I can't find a proper name for this type of sweet treat though. Coconut spies in the shadows together with remote honey. While the fragrance is substantially desserty and attractive, the taste profile gives additionally a faintly bitter tang — I assume that it's the coumarin of tonka bean that smells vanilla but tastes a tad bitter. If you're interested in experiencing the flavor, you can buy "regular" cinnamon and Ceylon cinnamon: the standard cinnamon contains coumarin and has a slightly bitter taste whereas the Ceylon cinnamon contains only marginal hints of coumarin and tastes deeper and sweeter. Ok, on we go. The body is full. The finish is a bit alcoholic but otherwise still extraordinarily dark-chocolatey. The coumarin bitterness intensifies at this stage. Many other flavors fade away in the end. The aftertaste wants to export a bag of tonka beans to the US but is informed that coumarin is illegal in the States and the beans are confiscated at the border control. The mouthfeel is full, desserty, deep, somewhat rich but not particularly complex. Nevertheless, I wouldn't call this 'simple' either. It's velvety, mouthcoating, oily, smooth and surprisingly little sticky. Sappy but quite balanced. Wintry for sure, maybe also Christmassy. đŸ–€đŸ€Ž

Saunan jĂ€lkeen illan tumman aika đŸș puolalaista stoutia lasiin siis. KevyttĂ€hĂ€n tĂ€mĂ€ nĂ€köjÀÀn on.

Jotenkin hyvĂ€n paahto asteen lisĂ€ksi nĂ€mĂ€ toimivat yhteen loistavasti, makeutta on mut paahteisuus ilmeisesti neutralisoi komboa. Karamellimainen, paahteinen ja öljymĂ€inen.
