Smootherine #2, Russia
4.7
Yesterday's Smootherine #3 was quite insane, let's see what tonight's edition (#2) has to offer. The beer looks equally pervy as the one of yesterday. The color resembles mango lassi, extremely thick, glowing bright and seductive. This time carbonation doesn't give me unwanted surprises, the head is negligible and colors deep warm yellow. Looks like very thick smoothie. πŸ§‘πŸ’›πŸ§‘ Dry peanut is enormously dominant in the scent. The beer contains peanut butter but this is not peanut butter but rather dry peanut. Like bird feed. The nuance of peanut is actually slightly vegetal. Mushy mango flesh and banana try to rival the lofty peanut but have to remain in the background. The taste pushes down the bitter dry peanut and lifts up especially mango. I wonder if there's lactose also in the gustatory sphere. Very creamy, indeed like mango lassi. Fresh banana thickens the porridge further. Even the peanut is now more like peanut butter instead of mere dry peanut. Crazy stuff!! πŸ’›πŸ§‘πŸ’› The body is as full as full can be. The finish serves massive mango banana lassi with smaller amendments of both dry peanut and peanut butter. The aftertaste gives tribute to the Elvis sandwich. 3000 kcal is nothing for breakfast. The mouthfeel is huge and full, deep, rich, creamy and absolutely desserty. It's quite gentle and modestly carbonated although not shy in any respect. Very velvety and smooth for sure. Thick, smoothie-like cocktail. Seriously mouthcoating. A spoon would be a good idea! Quite far from a beer. Malt and hops are overrated β€” adjuncts are the new emperors! Interesting, innovative and intriguing. A curiosity. NOTE: The barcode leads to "Smootherine" (#1 of the series).
