Kesän alottajaisia vietetään mökillä, kun lumet täältäkin vihdoin sulivat. Käki kukkuu ja linnut visertävät, tunnelma lähellä täydellistä! 😃 Musta olut kuortuu kaadettaessa vaahdolla. Lasia kallistaessa vaahto venyy kerman lailla reunoilla. Komeasta pullosta on annettava erityismaininta! Tuoksu miedon savuinen. Suutuntuma paksuhko, huulilla tuntuu pientä tahmeutta. Maku impiksi keveähkö. Viskitynnyrin sävyjä ja savuisuutta saa hieman hakea, mutta kokonaisuus on mukavan tasapainoinen. Hieman jäin kaipaamaan täyteläisyyttä lisää.

A single malt Irish whiskey barrel aged Imperial Stout for a nightcap. The bottle looks exceptionally classy. Not pompous. The label is alright, could be more luxurious looking to match the bottle design better. The beer is opaque, matt black. The suppressed carbonation pushes up a beige velvety head that decides to remain below half a finger's yardstick. The foamy jacket melts hastily to a hair-thin lace orbiting the surface. Peat, smoke, whiskey, roasted malt, intensive barrel notes, licorice. That's what the fragrance is made of. Genuinely balanced, nothing dominates excessively. Hope it's a promise. Roasted malt, smoky whiskey, soaked barrel, burned peat and licorice land on my tastebuds. Reasonably big flavors although not immense. I'm also imagining a wisp of vanilla that is forced to give way to the bolder nuances. Brown sugar doesn't need to be imagined, it's real. The 10 % is beautifully hidden, not even a faintest signal of it can be received. All in all, amazingly silky flavors. The promise is kept. The body is full. Not huge. The tail gives a soft touch, the flavor constellation continues unchanged.
