Casual Drinks⁴
8.5% Imperial IPA / Double IPA
Double IPA brewed with El Dorado and Citra. CD is one of our smoothest drinking DIPAs so the QDH treatment suits it very well. Not much bitterness from the sheer volume of extra dry hops. Notes of honey, pear and honeydew melon.
Hops: Citra, El Dorado

This is very juicy and a bit tropical. Has some pineapple, mango and honeydew mainly. Hoppy bitterness is very light+. Has a light+ dankness to it. Has just a hint of malt to it. Whenever I see a new Veil I grab it. They usually deliver. This was excellent. Very juicy with a dank aspect is just heaven for me. My only complaint would be if they made it just a little more hoppy would improve it. I shouldn’t complain as it was excellent. Packaged on 5/22/25.

Another big DIPA whilst suffering with a kidney stone, but I gotta use these up before the hops die! A quadruple dry hop double IPA monster from The Veil (USA) who collaborated with Cloudwater to produce outstanding DIPAs and TIPAs. This brew is deeply amber coloured like honey and zero head left behind, but then I have had this sitting in my garage for weeks now. It's smells like massive El Dorado, and it is just that, but of course there's Citra in concert giving it a cutting citrus edge. Aromas of blood orange, grapefruit, melon and limoncello. Soft and big but I must admit I think this is a little bit dead from my poor storage and late serving. Garage storage is fine in winter...summer heat probably not. So I think this beers not at its best, my fault. It's still smooth, sweet and very hoppy. Tangy to quite the extreme from the quad dry hop saturated El Dorado and Citra. Some of lushness remains from what imagine was it's original splendor, thinking of Chubbles or Polly's El Dorado Deluxe as reference. Honeydew melon is strong, followed by blood orange and the traditional pine finish. Not overly piney as lush hops is the prime flavour. I only wish I had a second fridge to prevent this poor treatment and thus poor representation. My apologies. Do I rate it on what it is now, or what I think I would have been? As it is now I'd call it 3.5 or lower but maybe it should have been over 4/5.
