Turbid, pale orange beer with ridiculous carbonation unlocks a shooting froth rocket that first fills the entire glass with soapy foam. The foam keeps ascending from the can for a long time. I can also spot multiple minuscule yeast particles floating in the beer. ▪️ ▪️ ▪️ [I need time to let the beer settle down.] ▪️ ▪️ ▪️ The nose recognizes fermented grapefruit, even marginally stale, canned mandarin, moderate oat flakes and a metallic vibe. Doesn't seem to be okay. I check the best before: canned 12/04/23 and best before 01/24. Should still be all fine but... my sensory assessment tells a different story. The taste is not too inviting but better than what I should anticipate based on the scent. I receive heavy lemon pulp, pith and peel, grapefruit zest, peach and a hint of passionfruit. The hops are Idaho 7 and Motueka. Obviously not a match made in heaven. The body clocks light. The finish lives fast with citruses and some juicier tropical notes, and dies really young. I'll be waiting there with my tastebuds unfurled, waiting just for the aftertaste; welcome to my world. The mouthfeel is light, zesty, smooth, a bit tropical and messy. Too much effervescence ruins a lot here. The dates are on the safe side but something is wrong here: the massive froth, floating yeast, scent and taste all give an unappealing impression. Some kind of failure.
