Natural Light 4.2%, Anheuser-Busch InBev, United States

Natural Light
4.2% Pale Lager
Natural Light is brewed with a blend of premium American and imported hops, and a combination of malt and corn. Its longer brewing process produces a lighter body, fewer calories and an easy-drinking character. Wonderfully blended, balanced and brewed for a consistently clean flavor, light body and satisfying refreshment.

Natural Light is an unexpected bright spot in the sub-premium category, except if you know its history. To my best understanding, it was first introduced by AB as a competitor to the first light beer, Miller Lite. But they didn't want to tie the Budweiser name to a light beer (e.g., branded Bud Light), so they dubbed it Natural Light. So, somewhat by right, it's more of the Budweiser light beer than Bud Light is. And also not brewed with rice - just malt and corn. But somewhere along the way, it became the cheap picture beer of frat houses. Ultimately, that was a good thing because a rack is under $20. Either way, I am happy to say that Natural Light is my current go-to pick for a hot day. 4.2% abv. 95 Calories. Great light body. Lower carbonation. Very wet - hardly any mouthfeel. To my palate, good taste. The faintest malt along with a little sweetness. So easy to drink. Probably the easiest to drink. Retro can kicks ass.
