Murky, bright black beer with oppressed carbonation sets free a bronze, restrained head that falls short of one finger. The foamy cap descends soon to a thin lace ring. The scent is rather typical for the genre: raw cacao powder, roasted malt, distant lactose and a coffeeish hint. Cacao grows in the mouth and embraces a sweeter cover. The coffeeish touch remains pretty much unchanged. Alcohol is first nowhere but gains a fairly generous space in concert with the rising temperature of the beer. Roasted malt diminishes in the baseline. Vanilla, lactose, milk chocolate and a drop of cream finalize the gustatory package. The body is medium to medium-full. The weaker than accepted body allows alcohol to step forward a bit too boldly to my taste. Feels medium-full, strong, a tad alcoholic, intense and slightly sharp. Fits to the style framework but doesn't impress me.
