Lobster Tale 4.5%, Padstow Brewing, England

Lobster Tale
4.5% Witbier
This wheat beer was developed for the national lobster hatchery, an amazing charity based in padstow. This naturally cloudy wheat beer is fresh and light and I'd perfectly matched with lobster and seafood.

Lovely pale gold colour. From a can which produced a head so big it must be an emeritus professor of beers. Well balanced wheat beer with only mildly sour aftertaste. Light and crisp. All the better for being drunk from my German Christmas tankard with a pointy lid!

We are in Cornwall for a couple of days over Easter. It's not warm, but the sun has just come out as we look out over the beach. This is a fresh tasting and cloudy golden Witbeer from just around the coast in Padstow. Maybe it's psychological, but it does have something of the sea about it - a tang of salt with the mild spice flavours. Cool and refreshing - it goes well with mackerel. Lovely.
