A hit muggy day calls for a crisp, ice cold lager. Pour from the bottle was surprisingly listless, the foam only flickered to life before disappearing altogether.
The body is a pleasant golden yellow with a mild haze and although there is no head there is tonnes of carbonation in the glass.
Scent is mild and quite subdued, malty upfront, very bready, the yeast is pronounced. Some dry biscuit and cracker are present with the malted barley finishing it all off. In the mouth it is crisp and refreshing with waves of strong carbonation hitting one after another. It settles enough to go down smoothly but leaves a mild gaseous feeling.
Taste is as expected, barely and yeast strike first and as they dissipate the biscuit and cracker roll in with lager malt arriving at the end to champion a dry finish.
With its colour and malt profile, this could nearly be a Vienna lager. It is nice bit very little to set it apart.
