Peculiar IPA 5.1%, Theakston Brewery, England

Peculiar IPA
5.1% India Pale Ale
Weird BUT Gorgeous. Looks like a dark Red Malty Ale with a thick foamy head that remains at least half way down.... But it has the Drinkability of a Smooth IPA.. Bold Hops which DO blend smoothly with a Nice gentle Malty Background! Definitely NOT a standard IPA but don't hold that against it like some people are doing.

Tastes more like a Stout than an IPA?? Though that might be because im slightly drunk. A pleasant yet peculiar surprise nonetheless.

Can’t believe this gets so slated on other apps. It’s obviously a risk sticking an IPA label on it. Admittedly it’s nothing like any other IPA, either of old (no bitterness, relatively weak) or new (not particularly hop forward or fruity). It’s a Peculiar IPA! More like a best bitter it’s sweet and malty with a citrus hoppy twist, a very nice best bitter at that!
