After all the stouts and porters I've been enjoying lately it is great to be getting into some lively refreshing IPAs and other lighter options. I always have high hopes for yellow dog beers. As I'm pouring it into my glass the aromas are like a hyper puppy bounding all over the park chasing a bouncy ball. Orange, grapefruit, and mango fill my sinuses. Possibly some pine notes. This orange/straw beauty certainly is hazy. A modest head develops but doesn't last long. Mouth feel is as fun as watching a dog chase it's tail. Creamy smooth, no zesty tingle, no creamy smooth no... light but full bodied. Very fruity citrus, orange, grapefruit, and passion grab your tastebuds and only let go long enough to let some resinous pine slip in and join the dogpile. There may be some malt notes but they are buried as deep as a dog's bone in the back yard. I'm enjoying these low bitter IPA's As I'm looking at the can the name High 5 and hazy are reminding me of something else so that's all for this review. Till next time cheers my beer loving friends.
