A surprising drink. It obviously has a coffee aroma and a creamy mouthfeel. But then the surprises start; it does not have as strong a coffee taste as I was expecting, and the bitterness is similar. It has those tastes but surprisingly subtle. An enjoyable drink and a beer suitable for an all-nighter. I was surprised that there was a subtle sweetness when I was expecting nothing but bitterness. It is a very smooth and easy-drinking, quaffable beer.

Strong coffee aroma and flavour, smooth roasted sweet taste. Not keen on strong coffee but as an ale it's OK.
