2019 and 2020 tasting. 19 was aged in Heaven Hill bourbon barrels and 20 was aged in Buffalo Trace bourbon barrels. 19: Light bourbon, oak, chocolate and a little bit of raisins in the aroma. Taste has bourbon, chocolate, oak and dark fruits (primarily raisins, little bit of plum). The bourbon gets stronger heading into the mid-palate. 20: Bourbon, wine, plums and raisins in the aroma. Taste has light bourbon, wine and oak. Thus worries me. I hope this year's isn't having infection issues. I definitely don't remember any wine being present in my first can. Hopefully it's just a bad can. It's not bad at all...I actually really like the flavor, but it's definitely off. Both have a medium-full body and an appropriately lower amount of carbonation. 4.25/5

Freshly canned 2020 release. Aged in Buffalo Trace bourbon barrels instead of Heaven Hill barrels this time. The bourbon in this smells amazing. Vanilla, oak and cinnamon notes as well. Taste has bourbon and vanilla right up front. The cinnamon follows in the late mid-palate and into the finish. Aftertaste is oak and bourbon. Medium-full body with an appropriately lower amount of carbonation. A more full body and this could possibly be world class. I now have a 4 year vertical of this one. One day me and some buddies will take them down. 4.5/5

2019 vintage. Bourbon, chocolate, caramel and maybe some brown sugar. Delicious as usual. Still a bit boozy, but that's expected from trying last year's fresh. 4.5/5

Bourbon, roasted malts, chocolate, oak and hints of dark fruits. A tasty bourbon barrel aged treat. Excellent offering from a local brewery near me. High 4.25/5

2017: Chocolate, coffee, roasted malts, fairly mellow bourbon, vanilla and a slight bit of oak. Definitely oldest as the bourbon is more flavorful than hot. 2018: Chocolate, coffee, roasted malts, a little bit stronger bourbon, vanilla and a bit more oak as well. 2019: Bourbon, roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, vanilla and oak. Definitely a good deal warmer than the prior years when it comes to the bourbon. Picking a favorite is gonna be tough, but it's definitely between 2017 and 2018. The mellowness of the 2017 is great, but the 2018 is a great medium for balance between the 3 years. I pick 2017 as my favorite, with 2018 in a close second. Either way, the winner is me! 4.25/5

Bourbon and chocolate stand out the most in the aroma. Maybe a little bit of caramel hiding in there as well. This is kind of sweet, but very balanced at the same time. A mellow bourbon and a nice decadent chocolate come through first in the taste. This is definitely not as boozy as the glass I had on tap at the brewery, which is a good thing. There's some vanilla in here along with some caramel and toffee. A nice noticeable oakiness from the barrel aging is evident. This is very tasty and definitely very complex without being overwhelming. Definitely stands up to some stouts from big craft breweries. I can't wait to try this with some age on it. If you happen to pass by Lansing, MI, definitely look for this if you like BBA stouts. Honestly, this is almost a 4.5/5 for me, but not quite, but definitely a solid 4.25/5
