Full and dry body. Dark malts toned down with dominating bitters. Aftertaste dominated by bitters added with some coffee and bisquit tones. Very straightforward, yet still one of the best dark ales I've tasted. I'd categorize this being old school, concentrates keeping it simple but and doing well what it does.

Helppon paahteinen, hyvä juotavuus.

Tölkis lukoo jotta on pantu Kirkstallilla. Se ainaki lupaa hyvää. 🙂 Vähä metallisen paahteinen tuoksu ja maku, mutta sitä mustanruskia väriki antoo olettaa. On sopivasti lempeyttä, mikä tuo vähä suklaanaromejakin paahteisuutehen. Melko hapokas, mutta ei raakasti. Jälkimaku tuntuu suus enemmän kuin maistuu. Aika laihaahan tää on mutta en silti vetiseksi sano.

Dark Ale named after the pub in a Patrick Hamilton novel. Aroma of roasted malts and dark cocoa. Medium- bodied easy drinker with smooth feel. Taste of roasted malts, cocoa & dark cocoa bitterness, caramel sweetness and easy herbal hops. Not bad at all but think this would rate much better from draft 🍻
