The evolution of this beer continues apace… and it just keeps getting better. I’ve yet to delve into to what exactly the brewer has done differently but I’m assuming he’s adjusted the grain bill and played with the water profile, as well as tinkering with his hop schedule too. Is it even the same beer after all this?! 😂 There’s definitely a more dense hop character to it, more intensity in flavour and aroma. There’s still melon and citrus as well as Mooney gentle bitter finish. The mouthfeel feels fuller too, soft but filling and chewy. Will try a pint at the brewery next time and chew the brewers ears off until he tells me the secret 🤣

Quite bitter on the aftertaste, leading on from gentle Stonefruit flavours. Sessionable and easy drinking. Not my favourite of theirs but worth a pint once in a while.

Earthy with bready malt character, mildly crisp and with a lingering bitterness. Great first attempt at a lager from my local brewery 👍

A week after it’s introduction and it’s mellowed nicely. The lime hint and citrus is still there but any bitterness has pretty much disappeared. Smooth tropical yeasty, cask ale goodness 👍

The weekend has landed in the form of a an oatmeal liquorice stout. Super fresh and tasting good, this will only get better with age. Fruity, slight tang of bitterness, quite smooth and very easy drinking. Liquorice comes through at the end. This would have done really well as a stout to have throughout the summer. My local brewery is very small and a cask of this wouldn’t shift in the summer. It’ll shift now though, happy weekend! 👍

Bitterness is there but in the background. Loads of tropical goodness in flavour, nice soft mouthfeel. Great beer!

Two new beers on at my local micro, what a treat! And after completing my first official timekeeping duties in competitive swimming i was in the mood for celebrating! Nice citrus notes, hint of lime and tangerine, very low key. Really smooth bitterness comes through. Could sink a few of these but I want to try the other new one.

Same yeast, same water profile, same hops… Slightly different malt bill, slightly different cold side hop schedule… Just goes to show what subtle changes can do to a beer. This has been transformed. Raw, vegetal, chewy and dense. Tropical intensity, melon and lime… A beaut! 👌

My first review of this was on the Friday evening having tapped the beer at 6am on Thursday… by Saturday evening the conditioning had mellowed this beer out somewhat and I was honestly in heaven with this… cask beer, NEIPA profile, up there with the best of ‘em, brewed less than a mile from my gaff… 🥰
