Sabor ahumado intenso, casi excesivo

I never knew there were so many flankers, I have some catching up to do. The pour from the bottle revealed a medium to heavy body, jet black with some chocolate brown bubbles which dissipated quickly, leaving only trace amounts around the rim. Aromas of bourbon, brown sugar, molasses, a little vanilla and surprisingly, coming in last, and weakest, spent espresso. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, silky at first but rapidly turns syrupy with very mild carbonation at the end. Taste is very intense. A wall of strong bourbon upfront with waves of sweetness crashing in, shifting between vanilla and brown sugar. The espresso is like an afterthought at this stage, it barley registers. The bourbon circles back with a renewed intensity, it seems almost artificially enhanced, so much so that it's difficult to enjoy. Syrupy sweetness, again a little synthetic tasting, tried to resurface but is quickly beaten back down by the bourbon. It really does suffocate everything else and in the end, it's all too much. I think I won't bother with the other flavours but I'll certainly stick to the regular KBS.
