Excellente bière! Les houblons Mosaic, une belle découverte. Une bière à goûter absolument.

Beer 3/5. Limpid amber beer with a minuscule-bubbled, off-white head that falls short of one finger. Nevertheless, the retention is fairly long as a neat lace ring and haze waft on the top. The nose picks fruity aromas, especially dried apricot, a drop of pine resin and a whisper of something farmhousey. It's not really barnyardy but something to that effect. The tongue gets easily along with the classical IPA flavors of resin, a bit of dried apricot, grapefruit peel and a whisper of orange pith. The body rates light-medium. The finish gives more resin and pine needles than upfront but doesn't forget the bitter fruits either. The mouthfeel is crisp, dry and drying, no doubt about it. It's classical, gets a good stretch toward the West Coast but something is missing for an untroubled ride up to the destination...

Beer 2/5. Muddy, dark brown beer with a mediocre, light beige lace ring decorating the surface for a short period only. Then all flat still. This baby smells like coffee, raw chocolate, raw cacao powder and... a modest hoppy tail. The gustatory side is a tad bitter, quite a load of dark overstayed coffee, less raw chocolate than in the fragrance and a bit of grassy hops. This is supposed to be a Milk Stout but tastes like a Coffee Stout. The body is light to light-medium, probably closer to light though. The finish is very coffeeish, bitter as well, but doesn't abandon chocolate and cacao altogether. The mouthfeel is relatively light, moderately tangy, dry and drying. It sucks all the moisture away from my gums...
