Happy German Beer Day! Fröhlichen Tag des deutschen Bieres! 🇩🇪🍺🍻  Therefore, a Doppelbock from Bavaria. The Bocks are, generally speaking, a set of beerstyles that I should enjoy more often. Meanwhile in Finland, the weather is (again) ridiculous. Quoting a famous meteorologist, one can only laugh at this weather. We got some 20–30 cm snow in our location last night. More is still to fall. And it's bloody April 23!! 🌨️❄️⛄🥶 The beer portrays a lucid, dark mahogany complexion. The carbonation lies a bit on the oppressed side as it unleashes a creamy head that reaches half a finger's level at maximum. The retention is short but the remnant lace ring looks still neat. The scent is quite modest, maybe because of the temperature, but I can still pick syrup, rye malt, caramel and dark chocolate, all in minor volumes. Overall, resembles the nuance of mämmi or skärgårdsbröd. Mämmi, indeed, is what I like on my tastebuds right now. Sweet rye malt, syrup, molasses, caramel, raw cacao bean, dark chocolate, brownie. A good load of elements albeit all more or less within the same flavor range. The hoppy sector is considerably narrow, almost zero. The body is medium or medium plus. All fine for the ABV. The finish perhaps reduces the sweetness by a couple of clicks and tries to boost the hops without real success. Strong kicks, a wonderful earthquake; rainbow tones land like drops on the arches of the aftertaste; branched redemption; impulse chaos and sensory odyssey. The mouthfeel is medium, velvety, smooth, slightly sappy, satiating. It's amazingly pleasant, not edgy at all, rather gulpable, and it worries me. Could pair beautifully with fatty fish.
