750ml green glass, cork and crown cap; pours a hazy light to medium amber, soft carbonation; white head, which disappear quickly; on the nose lemony acidity, fresh and zippy hints of apple and floral hoppy characters, biscuity notes mingle with orange dried slices; in the mouth lemony acidity and orange citrusy notes, juicy and floral hops carries through and balances the apple acidity, bread notes, sharp carbonation across the throat, hops character comes back though in the aftertaste: peaches and yellow stone fruits; overall a beautiful marriage of cider and beer - refreshingly zippy, hoppy and oodles of apples

330ml clear glass, crown cap; pours a brilliant clear light to medium straw, petillant, white head when pouring which disappears quickly; on the nose complex, yet clean, floral and fruity notes, melon and honey, followed by rich and satisfying ripe pear aroma, some funk reminding of horse blankets and hay; in the mouth velvety smooth mouthfeel greets you with a sharp and cutting lemony or perhaps rhubarb acidity, followed by beautiful rounded residual sweetness, fruit and zippy, balanced and round, and all that with a light and bright body, what more could one ask for?, overall mistakenly one of Tom Oliver's masterpieces, you'll find pears and apples, melon and floral notes, phenolics and residual sugar.... damn it's good! 'nuff said!

Clearly a brilliant product but not to my liking

Glastonbury is still on the radio. Flaming Lips doing Bowie. Effing marvellous. In celebration of all this midsummer madness I'm still on the cider. At The Hop is exactly as described - bittersweet and infused with hops. Loads of apple flavours with added citrus notes and a pleasant earthy, dank tang and a dry finish. It's so clear - you can see the future through it. Hang on - the Flaming Lips are back for an encore....!

I'm now back from The Sally via a selection of beers I was too lazy to record. I'm listening to Radiohead at Glastonbury- who have finally realised that people like the top tunes like Street Spirit as opposed to bag loads of experimental nonsense. I picked this up before I left, and it's like sunbeams in a glass. It's produced from Herefordshire apples that have been matured for 8 months, and is medium sweet. Crisp, clear, packed with apples to bursting point and beautifully balanced. Blimey - Radiohead are doing 'No Surprises' now. They are in danger of playing a few hits.
