Hammerton Brewery
England
chevron_leftchevron_right
Hammerton was one of the many British breweries that bit the dust during the 1950s and '60s as the industry indulged in a disastrous bout of consolidation; it came back in 2014, albeit on the wrong side of the river. The new brewery even brews an oyster stout, as the original Hammerton did. Look out for N7, the beer developed in partnership with James Kemp, formerly head brewer at Marble and Buxton and now weaving his heavy metal magic for Yeastie Boys.

Decent drink with a nice tropical fruit aroma. Creamy mouthfeel with a nice tropical fruit taste. Subtle hoppy taste with a slightly bitter note. Slight sweet finish but more bitterness kicks in. Enjoyable drink and a good session ale. A balanced beer.

Yeah I liked this yaknow. Hammerton brewery is solid and it's a cool place to visit and grab a drink. This was waaaay better than I expected for being on cask, had a hint of fizz and generally nice flavour, not too fruity or too anything tbh. Extra couple decimals for the pleasant surprise.

It pours gold in colour with a subtle haze and a white head. Aroma and flavour are citrussy with hints of tropical fruits.
