Got home from the Back Forty Brewery fireworks just in time to watch the New Year's celebration on TV. Haven't had this Stout in over 3 years so it's time to try it again.
Super high and frothy head. Sweet malt aroma. Flavor gives me a roasted deep coffee with only some background bitter chocolate hiding behind. As it enters the finish the sweetness gives way to a surprising hop bitterness. Good way to bring in the New Year.

One of the best octoberfest fest offerings out there. Rich, malty, and on point for a great fall brew

Mukava IPA tuttavuus Kentuckysta. Humalan aromi maistuu sopivasti ja suuhun jää vahva jälkimaku. Mukava helposti juotava vahvempi IPA.

Pours a dark brown. Even while coming out of the can it's opaque brown. Small head with large bubbles that disappears quickly. Aroma of sweet roasted coffee, adds faint notes of chocolate. Full-bodied but not syrupy or sticky, still feels velvety but clean. A flavorful bittersweet cocoa up front slowly becoming more bitter then adding roasted coffee and a brief elusive alcohol burn. Not until the finish does the sugar start making the chocolate creamier and gives it more of the characteristics of a milk chocolate.
Not a lot of surprises and the coffee is very subdued, but still there's no negatives about it. A nice enjoyable solid beer.
