The bright reddish-amber hue of Maisel’s Weisse comes from the careful selection of the finest wheat and barley malts, while its unique character stems from the Bayerische Edelreifung – a traditional method of brewing using our own pure culture yeast handed down from one generation of master brewers to the next.
The fresh scent of fine yeast and pleasant fruity notes combine with the mild, spicy aroma of malt, fruit and clove with a touch of nutmeg in the first sip. Maisel’s Weisse’s characteristic slightly fruity, yet complex weissbier aroma comes to the fore in the finish.

Nice pour from a nice bottle leaves a pleasent looking weiss with a twist. The body has a darker, brown/orange tint that suggest much more depth of flavour than usual, and even the two fingers of foam are slightly off white.
Scents are robust, heavy wheat, clove, banana, nutmeg and a little pepper.
Mouthfeel is foamy but not as foamy as I expected. The beer is medium bodied but is just on the verge of being labelled heavy.
Taste is nice balance of wheat/weiss profile with sweet malts. Lots of sweet bread, some cracker and a tiny hint of toffee. This pairs well with the core profile of wheat and banana while the pepper tries to mellow the sweetness at the end.
A nice weiss, but a little heavier than usual, like drinking cereal. I could not have more than two.
