Whatever tricks a brewer might play, a beer has to be drinkable: 'Imperial' IPAs can be delicious at first but palate-numbing in the long term, points out Tom Hutchings, co-owner of Brew By Numbers (alongside Dave Seymour). Their brewery, which opened in the dog days of 2012, aims to produce beers that are both interesting and very drinkable. So far, so very good. If the beers share one quality, it's a moreish dryness that is hard to resist. Inspiration comes from Belgium, Berlin and across the Atlantic.

….in jeder Hinsicht ist dieses IPA vom Fass, daß orange und trüb mit 1cm Schaum im Glas steht und geruchlich intensive Aromen von Passionsfrucht, Grapefruit und Mango frei gibt.
So intensiv, daß mein, knapp ein Meter entfernter Gegenüber es stark riecht.
Das setzt sich auch gustatorisch fort. Die tropischen Noten sind bei leichtem bis mittlerem Körper sehr präsent.
Hinzu kommt eine angenehme, nicht überbordende Bittere, eine geringe, fruchtige Säure und damit eine schöne Süffigkeit.
Mir schmeckt es.
