Southwark Brewing

Southwark Brewing
England

There are some excellent breweries in Bermondsey, but few have as much experience to call on as Southwark. Peter Jackson - the driving force behind the brewery - has spent 30 years in the business, and he's enlisted the help of ex-Roosters man Sean Franklin to design the brew kit; pop in on Saturday to admire his idiosyncratic handiwork. The beers are served on cask and in keg; expect best bitter, golden ale, porter and more besides.

Golden colour with a thin white head. Quite hoppy with a dry bitterness in the finish. Decent enough.

Plenty of flavour for it's refreshing 3.8% with pale malt giving a biscuit sweetness & mosaic hops impart some tropical bitterness

Agree with the previous reviews re the sharp citrus hop flavours, it's refreshing & partially balanced with the malts.

Pale malt gives golden colour & sweetness to this more subtle American style ale with a little resinous bitter hop finish.

Malty and easy drinking. Enjoyable APA.
