Southwark Brewing
England

There are some excellent breweries in Bermondsey, but few have as much experience to call on as Southwark. Peter Jackson - the driving force behind the brewery - has spent 30 years in the business, and he's enlisted the help of ex-Roosters man Sean Franklin to design the brew kit; pop in on Saturday to admire his idiosyncratic handiwork. The beers are served on cask and in keg; expect best bitter, golden ale, porter and more besides.

Pale malt gives golden colour & sweetness to this more subtle American style ale with a little resinous bitter hop finish.

A golden, zesty American style IPA. Warrior hops give it a slightly spicy, orangey edge.

Golden coloured beer. Hoppy and malty. Hints of a biscuity flavour with a hint of bitterness in the aftertaste. Decent beer.

Clearly deserved a better rating than that given. However, poorly kept and served.Decent beer by taste but would have to wait for another establishment. Shame.

Apparently it takes 4 American hop varieties to make a Routemaster red, it's a nice fruity ale nonetheless!

Southwark single hop series using American Opus hops to produce a slight orangey tang to this golden pale ale
